Medhavi Skill University (MSU) is a state university established with the passage of the Medhavi Skills University, Sikkim Act,2021 has been in the UGC list of universities established as per section 2(f) of the UGC Act,1956.
In line with our vision of bringing convergence of the skilling ecosystem with higher education tracks, MSU has taken several initiatives, such as:
- MSU has been recently recognised by National Council for Vocational Education and Training
(NCVET) as an "Awarding Body." The University is in the List of Recognized Awarding Bodies published by NCVET vide File No. 38004/01/AA/2022/NCVET dated 11** November, 2022.
- Signed an MoU with Directorate General of Training (DGT) on 29th March, 2022 for undertaking Work Integrated ITI (CTS) courses under the Flexi MoU Scheme of DGT under the aegis of Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (MSDE).
- Signed an MoU with National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) on 2nd May, 2022 to promote B. Voc Degree programmes through the affiliated training partner network of NSDC.
- MSU has been appointed as the Project Management Unit (PMU) of NSDC International for the North East states vide an official letter dated 12th April, 2022 issued by NSDC.
As a young Skills University, we envision to synchronise the existing skilling frameworks to create and promote Skill Competency embedded Higher Education programmes that are industry-led and can support the youth across India for better employment. With genesis laid in the post-pandemic reformations in education, our foundational framework is technology integrated and compliant to the structure of the National Higher Education Qualification Framework (NHEQF) as per National Education Policy, 2020 (NEP2020). We are one of the few Universities in the country to execute Outcome Based Education (OBE) through competency driven curriculum, continuous and comprehensive assessment, criterion-based grading system, physical and blended learning process, and innovative pedagogies.
